So what the f#ck is “glamping,” anyway?

Future trends in luxurious adventuring, sketched by Dan Nelson

The latest Made Collection, “Glamping,” is designed to help you celebrate the wild in style. Now some of you are probably saying to yourself, as I originally did, “That’s cool, but what the f#ck is ‘glamping?’” A fair question.

Glamping combines the words “glamorous” and “camping” to describe, well, glamorous camping. A newfangled vacation experience that replaces the sweat and hassle of traditional camping with luxurious amenities like four-course meals and laundered clothing.

Being the astute cultural observers we are, I enlisted colleague, friend and Creative Technologist, Dan Nelson, to help examine this phenomenon and architect the next trend in lavish outdoor adventuring. We’ve identified a few solid opportunities and narrowed our list to the 10 you see here:

  1. Glackpacking
  2. Glorkeling
  3. Glayaking
  4. Glock climbing
  5. Glorseback riding
  6. Glanoeing
  7. Gleep sea fishing
  8. Glot air ballooning
  9. Glountaineering
  10. Glice fishing

What’s your vote? Care to contribute ideas? If so, go ahead and post or send ‘em our way (we just ask that you please respect the strict naming convention we’ve established). As always, if it helps articulate your concept, feel free to include sketches or prototypes.
